Acupuncture
Acupuncture helps to restore the flow of qi, which is the flow of energy, to release pain, balance systems in the body, improve immune functioning, and reduce the impact of stress in the body. It supports the foundation of the body so it can be at its optimal best. There are many forms the practice of acupuncture can take, including needles, cupping, guasha, moxa, electrical stimulation, cold laser, and acupressure or shiatsu.

-
Needles- very thin sterile needles placed in various points on the body open areas of stagnant qi, or slow down its flow, where there may be too much qi causing an imbalance.
-
Cupping- releases tension in the tissues creates homeostasis in the body and is used for pain management.
-
Guasha- is similar to cupping in that it releases tension in the muscles, improves the flow of qi in the body, is used for balancing, and pain relief.
-
Moxa- the practice of applying heat, and/or the burning of specific herbs near or on specific acupuncture points stimulates the building of qi to generate balance in the body.
-
Acupressure- using palm and finger pressure along with stretches to stimulate and balance specific points along the energy meridians.
-
Electrical Stimulation- with needles or directly on the skin, on specific acupuncture points has an anti-inflammatory effect.
-
Cold Laser- used in the areas of pain or on specific points reduces inflammation and induces faster healing. It can restore and improve areas of numbness and tingling.
-
Emotional Freedom Technique - a form of acupressure, often called “Tapping”, using the points on the face, head, body and hands. It helps move qi, or energy, in the body and is especially helpful in clearing negative thoughts, anxiety, stress, and some forms of physical pain.
-
Qigong - gentle movements, self-applied massage, breathing exercises, and meditations. Easily adaptable to every lifestyle, daily practice can help increase endurance, vitality, and longevity.
